Accountancy That Helps You Know Where You Stand
For UK owner-managed businesses that want clear answers, fewer surprises and straightforward advice when they need it.
You shouldn’t have to chase your accountant, wait until a bill lands to find out what you owe, or work everything out for yourself. You should know what’s happening, understand what matters and have someone you can actually speak to when you need advice.
That’s what our approach is built around.
Replies within 24 hours on working days
Two proactive reviews every year
No unapproved extra fees
Service Recovery Guarantee
Your Accountant Should Make Things Clearer
Not Give You More To Worry About
Running a business gives you enough to think about already.
You shouldn’t have to wonder:
How much tax have I built up?
Is everything being handled properly?
Am I paying more tax than I need to?
Is there something I should be dealing with now rather than finding out about later?
Why am I always the one having to chase?
Who can I actually speak to when I need advice?
Whether your current accountant is no longer giving you what you need, or your business has simply reached the point where you need more support, the underlying need is usually the same.
You want to know where you stand.
And you shouldn’t need to become an accountant yourself to do that.
The shared customer evidence is particularly strong here: the dissatisfied owner wants control restored, while the growing owner wants to maintain control as the business becomes more complex.
Plenty Of Accountants Say They’re Proactive. We Think You Should Know What That Actually Means.
Good intentions are difficult for you to judge before you become a client.
So rather than simply promising to be proactive, responsive and supportive, we’ve built clear standards and processes around the things clients tell us matter most.
We call it:
Certainty By Design
A way of working designed to give you more clarity over your tax, your accounts, the service you receive and what happens next.
It means you know what to expect from us — and we hold ourselves accountable for delivering it.
What Certainty By Design Means For You
Know When You’ll Hear From Us
Normal enquiries receive a substantive response within 24 hours on working days.
If we can’t fully answer within that time, we’ll let you know what is happening and when you can expect the answer.
You also have a named primary contact, a named backup and a dedicated urgent telephone number.
You shouldn’t have to wonder whether your message has disappeared.
Know What’s Coming
Every recurring client receives a personalised Financial Control Calendar.
It sets out the important accountancy and tax dates across your accounting year, including when we need information from you and when your planned reviews take place.
One place to see what’s coming and what happens next.
Know Where Your Tax Stands Before Year End
Around two months before your year end, we hold your Tax Clarity & Planning Review.
We show you the exact tax accumulated up to month nine based on the information available, then discuss what is likely to happen during the remaining months and work through your Tax Opportunity Review.
The point is simple:
Talk about tax while there is still time to do something useful — not after the year has already finished.
Know How Your Business Is Performing
Within three months of your year end, we hold your Business Performance & Planning Review.
We confirm your tax liability, compare your performance with last year, benchmark you against similar businesses in your industry and identify areas where there may be scope to improve.
We also complete your Business Owner Essentials Check, focusing on the 3–6 things we believe deserve your attention most.
Know What Happens After The Meeting
Advice is only useful if something happens afterwards.
Both annual reviews produce a written action plan on the same day, showing:
- what needs doing;
- who is responsible;
- when it should happen.
We check progress around 30 days later and follow up on individual actions when their target dates arrive.
We don’t just agree what should happen and leave you to get on with it.
Know What Something Will Cost Before You Agree To It
If we recommend work outside your agreed service, we explain:
What we recommend and why
How long it should take
What it will cost
What the potential benefit is
Then you decide.
No additional chargeable work starts until you approve it.
No unapproved extra fees.
And where a project has a measurable financial outcome but genuine uncertainty, we may also be able to structure the work on a Shared-Risk Fee basis — including no-win-no-fee arrangements where appropriate.
Know We’ll Put Things Right If We Get Them Wrong
Our Service Recovery Guarantee means that if we materially fail one of our defined service commitments for something within our control, we won’t wait for you to complain.
We’ll tell you what happened, explain how we’re putting it right and provide an appropriate remedy based on the impact.
Because accountability should be part of the service — not just something discussed after a problem.
These are now genuine operational differences rather than aspirational copy: the original strategy explicitly identified communication standards, tax visibility, service journeys, pricing controls and formal guarantees as the way to turn customer certainty into a defensible operating model.
What Has Brought You Here?
Not every business owner starts looking for a better accountant for the same reason.
But there are two situations we see regularly.
Your Accountant Is No Longer Giving You What You Need
Maybe you’re constantly chasing.
Answers take too long.
Tax seems to appear without enough warning.
You don’t feel properly advised.
Or you’ve simply lost confidence that somebody is actively looking after things.
The difficulty is that changing accountant can feel like a hassle — especially when you’re worried the next one might be no different.
That’s why every client changing to us goes through:
The Accountancy Reset
A structured process designed to understand what we’ve inherited, establish exactly where you stand and start the new relationship properly.
Your Business Needs More Financial Support Than It Used To
Maybe nothing has gone badly wrong.
The business has simply changed.
There’s more turnover, more tax, more money moving through the business and more decisions with financial consequences.
What worked when the business was smaller may no longer give you the visibility or support you need now.
For clients who want a deeper ongoing relationship, we offer:
Embedded Finance Partner
Ongoing financial support designed to help you understand the numbers and make informed decisions without having to become the financial expert yourself.
All The Accountancy & Tax Support You’d Expect - With A Clearer Way Of Working Around It
The systems above don’t replace the accountancy work your business needs.
They make that work more useful.
Depending on your requirements, we can help with:
Annual Accounts & Corporation Tax
Keep your statutory accounts and company tax properly handled, with the important points explained clearly.
Personal Tax
Help with your personal tax position where it connects with your business and wider circumstances.
Bookkeeping & VAT
Keep records organised and current, and make sure VAT obligations are dealt with properly.
Payroll
Keep employees paid and the associated reporting handled.
Tax Planning
Look for legitimate opportunities to make sure you’re not paying more tax than you need to.
Business & Financial Support
Get help understanding the figures and the financial implications of decisions rather than simply being handed last year’s numbers.
What Clients Value Most Isn’t Another Accounting Buzzword
It’s being able to get an answer.
Getting useful advice.
Knowing someone is there when they need help.
And feeling confident things are being handled properly.
